Tara BarnettChief Corporate Relations Officer, LNG Canada

    Tara Barnett is the Chief Corporate Relations Officer and a member of the LNG Canada Leadership Team, bringing more than 20 years of experience across the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) spectrum. Her career began as an environmental and regulatory consultant, where she supported oil and gas exploration and infrastructure projects across western and northern Canada. 

    Since joining Shell in 2013, Tara has held a diverse range of roles spanning Venture Integration, Emergency Management, and Corporate Relations across all lines of business—from downstream operations to upstream, including frontier exploration, shales, distribution, and offshore power. She has extensive experience leading asset and project teams and is known for navigating complex change and business challenges with transparency, accountability, and care. 

    Tara has worked in nearly every province and territory in Canada, from Sarnia to Inuvik and from St. John’s to Bare Point, gaining a deep appreciation for regional contexts, communities, and stakeholder perspectives. Most recently, she served as Phase 2 Integration Manager at LNG Canada, playing a key role in supporting the project’s ambition to double the size of the facility and deliver long-term value through scale. 

    Tara is passionate about advancing sustainable Canadian energy development and is committed to delivering safe and responsible operations as LNG Canada moves into its next chapter.
