Julie is a Métis-Cree journalist with 35 years of experience, originally from Alberta and firmly rooted on the West Coast since 2005. Since joining Global BC in 2023 as a reporter and producer, she has brought strategic insight, clarity, and a collaborative spirit to her storytelling.
As a dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competency, Julie holds a Master’s in Intercultural Communication and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Leadership & Organizational Psychology. Her academic depth enhances her understanding of leadership dynamics and organizational culture in industry contexts.
Since 2010, Julie has also taught communications and journalism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where she champions mentorship, talent development, and a culture of continuous learning, equipping future leaders with both critical skills and cultural intelligence.
