Amanda Calla, MBADirector, Indigenous Relations, Sun Life

    Amanda is a visionary changemaker dedicated to advancing Indigenous interests, education, and reconciliation within the investment and financial services sectors. As Sun Life’s inaugural Director, Indigenous Relations, Amanda brings 15 years of experience as a licensed Financial Advisor serving Indigenous clients and communities. In 2024, Amanda earned an MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University.

    Amanda’s experience is further enhanced by certification as an accredited Trauma of Money™ facilitator and Indigenous retirement planning thought leader. Her approach prioritizes relational accountability, reciprocity, and systems change, aiming to embed reconciliation as a core business value and practice within corporate Canada. By focusing on rebuilding Indigenous economies and restoring community wellbeing, Amanda’s research emphasizes the importance of Indigenous cultural alignment, respect for Indigenous worldviews and the importance of cross-cultural definitions of wealth and success.

    Amanda also sits on the board and investment committee of the West Vancouver Foundation. Amanda comes from the Calla family of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and settler ancestry, she resides within the unceded Coast Salish territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wúʔmesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
